AG North will offer sales and service of gymnastics equipment, mats, grips, and supplies to gymnastics, cheerleading and High School programs throughout the states of Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. AG North manager Rick Walker has over 25 years experience in equipment installations and repairs, and was trained directly at the AAI factory to do balance beam recoveries. Rick was part of the setup crew for the 1996 Olympic Games, and has worked at several other international competitions – including the most recent 2014 American Cup.
Rick also brings considerable experience with gym designs, having worked on the design and installation of the University of Alabama’s new facility. Rick has enjoyed over 30 years of teaching and coaching gymnastics at all levels, giving him a vast perspective on the sport of gymnastics, as well as the unique needs of coaches and gymnasts regarding the equipment and mats most appropriate for competition and training.
According to American Gymnast owner Jay Thornton, “The addition of Rick and the AG North location is an exciting move for American Gymnast, as well as all of our customers in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. These customers will now have a direct source for professional sales, installation, service, and repairs of gymnastics and cheer equipment that they have not previously had access to.”
American Gymnast headquarters (located in Augusta, GA) and AG North will also work together to continue providing meet setups for gymnastics, cheerleading, and Trampoline and Tumbling competitions throughout the southeastern United States, as well as the North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland areas.
