The 2010 World Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands are exactly FIVE months away. With much international competition in 2010 already taken place, it's likely we've been watching many of the stars who will be competing for world medals this fall. Although it was nearly three years ago, the last women's world team title was actually won by the United States in 2007. Take a look at six gymnasts who may very well be capable of matching that feat should they be selected for this year's USA world team.
It’s exciting to see things finally starting to take shape again in women’s gymnastics after a bit of a crazy 2009. We had numerous gymnasts injured, numerous gymnasts in between retiring and making “comebacks,” a bit of a weak national championships and world championships as a result of the age rule, and some strange new rules to deal with.
I have to admit I was a bit shocked to read that Nastia pulled out of consideration for the world team. She seemed so committed and excited to get back out on the world stage.
